WHY YOU MATTER

Tuition and instrument rental fees cover just 15% of Douglas County Youth Orchestra’s operating costs.

To continue our efforts to expand programs for students, we rely upon generous donations from businesses and individuals who believe that music matters to our community.

Your tax deductible donation enables us to offer scholarships for students, supports instruction by Eugene Symphony professional musicians and to purchase and repair instruments.

You can choose to contribute to three different funds:

General Fund

Scholarship Fund

Instrument Fund

DCYO welcomes any student with a desire to learn and play an instrument. We will never turn away a student based on their financial situation.

Keep the music playing

It is with help from donors like you that we are able to continue this exceptional program.

Volunteer with us

DCYO runs best with a dedicated group of volunteers who perform a huge number of tasks. Please help us in our quest to have a smooth-running and successful program so that our students can thrive and learn in an optimal environment. Our teachers serve the students best when they are able to focus on instruction.

Here is just a snapshot of tasks that volunteers could help with on a weekly basis:

  • Chair and stand set up before rehearsals.
  • Chair and stand tear down after rehearsals.
  • Pre-concert set up
  • Post-concert tear down
  • Reception aides after concerts

The Douglas County Youth Orchestra was formed in the Spring of 1997 with five string players. It has grown continuously throughout the years.
